    Converse 100th Anniversary Collection - October 2008 - #1

Converse seems like it has been around forever. And comparatively, they have – as evidence by the fact that they are celebrating their 100th anniversary. To celebrate their hundred years of existence, Converse has been releasing a number of slick looking shoes in 2008.

Three models that are coming out in October are the Camping Hi, the Jack Purcell B-Generation and the Tassel Hi. For classic simplicity, the Camping Hi is a simple boot style that comes in brown or black canvas with leather details. For a little bit of funky fun, the Jack Purcell B-Generation is being released in two tartan/plaid colorways – red and blue. And the Tassel Hi comes is like an Allstar with a golf flap added at the toe. These will be available in off white or dark brown. Look for these at Converse retailers in October. Via High Snobiety.

    Supra NS Studded Skytop

Supra has been upping their level of creativity lately and this Supra NS Studded Skytop is yet more evidence. This sneaker features a unique look that is sure to garner some attention.

The pictured shoes feature an all black color scheme and a number of unusual designs. Perhaps the most unique aspect of this shoe is the use of studs. Shiny patent leather is also used throughout these kicks. If you wear leather jackets or if you are in the heavy metal scene, these Supra NS Studded Skytop shoes will be a good match. • Air Jordan Melo M5 – Sneak Peak
By on August 28th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

LeBron James wasn’t the only one who debuted his new signature shoe at the Olympics. If you played close attention to the Gold Medal game, you would have noticed Carmelo’s halftime wardrobe change. For most of the games he wore the Melo M4 but decided to give the world a sneak peak. Timing couldn’t have been any better.

The Melo M5 was designed by Footwear Design Director of Brand Jordan D’Wayne Edwards, which helps explain its similarities to the Jordan signature line. The same style side panel and exterior stitching like we saw on the Air Jordan XX3 as well as a ribbed plastic piece at the heel similar to the Air Jordan XIV.

  • Nike Magnificent 7 Beijing Collection For Footlocker
By on August 28th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Foot Locker has released its third collection of sneakers that were designed in collaboration with Nike: “Magnificent7.” This collection is an introduction of 7 classical Nike styles. Each style has a theme that is depicted in various designs. The present Beijing collection is inspired by the Beijing Olympic Games and its “Bird’s Nest” stadium in Beijing. This big collection is a limited edition and sold at Foot Locker. The website is here.

The 7 classic Nike models enclosed in the “Nike Magnificent 7” are Air Max 1, Air Max BW, Air Max 95, Air Max 97, Air Max Ltd 2, Shox R4, Shox NZ and Nike Air Max 90. The designs are exclusive to Foot Locker. The criteria used in the designs were diverse style elements, materials and colors.

The colors that were used in the “Nike Magnificent 7 Beijing” Collection were related to the host country, China. The shoe lining and sole of each style have intense colors. Each shoe costs between $120-200 EUR and are sold exclusively at Foot Locker. This collection is a once in a lifetime collection as the Olympics venue will be rotated and the next new one in 2012 is London.

  • Puma First Round Customs-Black/Orange
By on August 28th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Desp One showed off some new Puma customs at his Custmsnkr.com blog linked here. These Puma First Rounds start off with a simple orange color that acts as a good base for the rest of the designer’s efforts. The black Puma symbol and heel wrap works well against the brighter orange color.

The primary design element used by Desp One is a spray effect added throughout the shoe. Desp One splattered white, gray and black paint on the heel as well as the eyelets to add an organized chaos to these First Rounds.

These custom First Rounds are the second version of this design for Desp One. The first version of Desp One’s First Rounds featured a orange/gray colorway with a wild splattering effect similar to this shoe. While the differences are subtle between the two sneakers, I think Desp One got it right with a more subtle splatter pattern on the second version.

    New Balance M574M Hummer Pack - #1

Using inspiration for the luxury SUV Hummer, here’s the latest New Balance 575. This shoe uses a combination of patent leather and honeycomb mesh, along with a grey camouflage pattern for a unique appeal.

Two colorways are available – white and black. I much prefer the white model for a crisp, cleaner look. These shoes will be available on September 3rd at Atmos. Via Individual Sole.
