  • Human Torch Air Force Ones
By on August 30th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Mo Money decided to take on one of Marvel Comics’ most underrated characters with his latest custom sneakers. The Human Torch Air Force Ones are based on more recent depictions of the Human Torch by Marvel. You can see how closely the designer matched his inspiration (a copy of Human Torch) by looking at the photo above.

The picture after this post shows the detailed work done by Mo Money. He did a great job replicating the devilish look on the Human Torch’s face without sacrificing fine details. The red/black colorway is fairly standard in the sneaker world but Mo Money adds his own flavor to these Air Force Ones.

These pictures were found on Mo Money’s blog at Customsnkr.com linked here. I am always a big fan of the little things added by sneaker artists to make their shoes different. Mo Money added the word “Marvel” above the outsole on both shoes in the same lettering used by the comic book giant. These shoes are fun to look at and show Mo Money’s ability to execute a fantastic design.

Air Jordan Spizike - Euro Exclusive - #1

This colorway of the new Jordan Spizike is a European exclusive. The black nubuck shoes are accented with glossy black patent, along with Cactus and Violet touches. The pattern used on the toe area and heel give this shoe some flavor. And for added color, the Cactus is used on the outsole as well as the inner lining.

If you are looking for a unique shoe that is a little wild, while still being mostly black, this is a good choice. Via Marquee Sole.

Vans Syndicate Half Cab S Rancheros - #1

Vans has done it again with another cool release. These Vans Syndicate Half Cabs dubbed the “S” Rancheros and are available in two colorways. The ranchero theme, which draws on a lot of culture from the southwestern part of the United States, is a theme not seen too often in sneakers.

Two color schemes are available at various Vans Syndicate retailers right now. You can pick up a pair of these kicks at Robust Flavor for $80.

  • Nike Air Jordan Fusion 20 Navy

The Nike Air Jordan Fusion 20 Navy is a special shoe as it is a hybrid. It is sold at Sole-Locker for $200 a pair.

The toe box is lined with horizontal lines. The start of the shoe lace has a lace lock with the label letters AF-1. The shoe lace is navy blue too. The shoe lace region is covered by a large flap of leather. This flap has very elaborate designs etched/ embossed on the leather. This flap is beautifully designed.

Around the ankle of the shoe, there is a shoe strap with a white buckle. There is a keychain hanging from the upper end of the shoe lacing. There is only one keychain per pair of shoes. The midsection of the sneaker can not be visible because of the large flap that covers it. The midsole has two layers. One is the dark brown layer and the bottom half is the white layer. The heel is formed by a white piece of leather. The inner lining of the shoe is covered with brown specks.

The outsole of the shoe is white colored. There is a concentric circle tread at the toe box and another one at the heel. This shoe looks good for both sexes.

  • Dragon Air Force Ones
By on August 29th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Desp One created these custom Air Force Ones for a friend who loves dragons. The designer says that these shoes took two days but they look like they took much longer to complete. I found these pictures on Desp One’s blog on Customsnkr.com linked here.

I am a big fan of Desp One’s approach to designing these Air Force Ones without using the typical dragon image. The dragons drawn on both sides of the Dragon AF1s are detailed and use colors that are fairly subtle. The left shoe features an olive green dragon with yellow accents that is heading toward the toe. This dragon doesn’t know that he is about to make contact with the brown and gray dragon rounding the corner on the right shoe.

It would have been easy for Desp One to phone in these custom Air Force Ones with cheesy images of green dragons. His skills and desire to put out good products did not allow him to take the simplest path to the Dragon AF1s. These shoes are fantastic and I am sure his friend is rocking these shoes all around town.
