  • Wild Side Nike Dunks

KickerBockerGlory posted these crazy but cool Nike Dunk customs to the Facebook page linked here at the end of March. The British sneaker artist has been hard at work on a new crop of customs and posted some of his finest work to his new Facebook page. The custom Dunks featured here were left unnamed but I called these customs the Wild Side Nike Dunks for obvious reasons.

The middle panel and heel tag feature a brown/black leopard print that contrasts greatly from the simpler patterns used elsewhere. The toe is painted blue and the heel wrap and eyelets are green, framing the leopard print in basic hues. KickerBockerGlory matched the shoe laces and Nike swooshes to the yellow soles on these Dunks.

I love the juxtaposition of simple and complex on the Wild Side Nike Dunks. KickerBockerGlory shows once again that he is willing to play around design elements before bringing these parts together for great sneaker art. Some claim that Nike was inspired by the stylish creations of Vans while designing this beautiful pair. But we disagree.

Although Vans is the vanguard of style in the sneaker universe, Nike’s own heritage of innovation rules out any possibility of such a development. Instead we suspect that this was a rare case of creative telepathy between the stylists of Vans and the master designers of Nike: in silence they developed their own masterpieces without even being aware of it.

This is a pretty clean, and elegant design that screams “catch me”to sneaker lovers the world over. Do you hear the call? If you do, catch these at colette. Via Sneakernews.com

Chris Paul has had his second signature release from the Jordan Brand series. His designs are very well conceived, carefully crafted items of harmony and balance in both form and colors. We have rarely seen a creation which combined varsity, white, metallic grey in such a perfectly harmonious way.

We regard these pairs as the sign of the oncoming glory for Chris Paul and his collaborators at Nike. This is a really convincing start to the task of sneaker creation, and judging by the achievements so far, it is going to be wonderful journey for both us, and the master designers.

It is speculated by scientists and laymen that this intriguing Chris Paul phenomenon will make its apperance in stores sometime this month. But those deeper in-the-know claim that it is possible to capture these at eBay, where you don’t need to tolerate any saliva and drooling either, unlike at the condition at the stores.
