  • Asics X = Studioanti and Washio Collaboration
By on December 30th, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Asics X is a fusion of dynamic designs from Studioanti and Washio, inspired by man’s furry and sharp clawed, second-best favorite pet – the cat. Onitsuka Tiger, founded in 1949, this year marks its 60 years in the sneakers industry and is capping the celebration with this pair.

Studioanti takes the inspiration of the design from stray alley cat, far from the spoiled tabby cat that sits on old ladies’ laps. The camouflage graffiti in drip pattern assimilates the life of a stray cat into that of a soldier in battle, always cautious of his environment. Where as the dark brown colorway represents the condition of the murky and muddy streets of the urban jungle. The claw scratch on the back of the shoes stands for the cat’s fight for survival.

On the other hand, Washio’s insight and contribution on the concept is more of the trainer design. According to View More Photos/Info
