  • College Kicks On Court: Cal Knocks Off #1 in Jordans and PEs
By on February 3rd, 2014 | No Comments Comments

Cal‘s Jordans and TaShawn Thomas‘ unreleased LeBron James PE highlight a wild weekend on college basketball’s sneaker scene. Jordan Brand’s West Coast representative notched the biggest upset of the season to date, handing top-ranked Arizona their first loss of the season. Taking a break from the recent push of Jordan Melo M10 PEs, Cal rocked retros and PEs for their resume win. Former McDonald’s All-American Jabari Bird laced the Air Jordan 11 “Concord”, while the Bear’s leading scorer Justin Cobbs hit the game-winning shot in the Air Jordan 12 “Playoffs”. Unfortunately, the defeat wasn’t the only loss Arizona took, as third-leading scorer Brandon Ashley shelved his Nike Kobe 8 iDs for the first time all season and suffered a season-ending foot injury in the Air Jordan 2 “University Blue”. On a more positive note, Houston’s TaShawn Thomas donned a Nike LeBron 9 PE for the Cougar’s recent road trip that had previously only been spotted on LBJ’s feet. Elsewhere, Michigan State debuted their latest Nike KD VI PE, Louisville wore the latest adidas Crazy 97 retro, and the pink movement for Breast Cancer Awareness was led by the Nike Kobe VI “Kay Yow”.

Work your way through all of the following pages to get a full recap of the sneakers worn on the college basketball landscape around the country, which also included a wide array of rare Air Jordans and new NIKEiDs. Leave a comment in the feedback box with your winner of the weekend, and keep tuning into College Kicks On Court every Monday and Thursday on Nice Kicks.

Vans has unveiled another iteration of their iconic silhouette, the California Era, and rendered it with a classic, simple style. The sneaker in the pack features an upper made from buttery Nappa leather and come in two rich colorways: full black and full forest green.

Adding to the design aesthetic of the sneakers is the floral print interior that makes these skate kicks ready for Spring. Rounding up the look of the sneakers are the tan leather pull tab, white laces, and white rubber outsole.
