This is the New Balance Elite Edition “Propaganda” Pack and it takes inspiration from World War I propaganda posters; the sneakers chosen for this pack are New Balance 1600, 999, and MT580. Red stands out as the dominant color, black and grey too have been used on these suede and mesh silhouettes.

Each sneaker is accompanied by a “Propaganda” poster that seems to be out of Soviet Russia or some Eastern Bloc country. These arrive on July 1st and will be priced between $110-$130.

The adidas SpringBlade, released a couple of days earlier, is going to be available in some creative packaging for the Special Edition pairs.  The heel carries 16 blades made of high tech polymer, the blades are angled forward promising minimum energy loss. And you can actually tweak each blade individually. How’s that for customization? Would you call it somewhat gimmicky?

The blades basically get compressed and then release energy as you move, propelling you forward. According to the adidas Innovation Team the technology used here is seven times more temperature resistant than what you get with EVA midsoles. These sneakers launch August 1st for $180.
