I really like what Nike is doing with the Air Max+ 95 BB. This is my favorite colorway so far. It’s definitely a great shoe for the summer.

  • In Retrospect: Air Jordan 1 “Banned”
By on June 2nd, 2012 | No Comments Comments

Released precisely one year ago, the Air Jordan 1 “Banned” was one of the biggest releases of 2011. Outfitted with premium black and red leather, this limited release appeared with special “x” markings throughout as an ode to David Stern’s decision to fine MJ for rocking his new signatures on the court. This release only dropped at select Nike Factory stores, which created mass hysteria in the sneakerhead universe. Certainly one of the highlights of 2011, this iconic silhouette and colorway headline today’s “In Retrospect” column.

Were you one of the few sneakerheads able to cop the Air Jordan 1 “Banned”? How does this particular rendition of the Air Jordan 1 compare to past releases? Lastly, was this one of your favorite releases of 2011? Let us know in the comment section below.

Being versatile is one of the strongest assets a sneaker should possess in order to be always trendy and not remain obsolete. There are many ways that a sneaker should be revamped, could be from a particular inspiration – events, prominent people, famous structures, fashion, or even transportation institutions. Converse, maker of the legendary Chuck Taylor has been so clever in choosing the best designs to fill every template to be showcased by the Chucks. In quest to appear unique, Converse teamed up with Braniff International, an American airline that operated from 1930 to 1982.

Converse adapted to Braniff’s colorful designs so to push some striking pairs to the romp. Aside from having a great design presentation, Converse makes sure that its rendition is relevant and would be something that its followers will patronize. Making its way to be very timely for the summer, the Converse x Braniff International presents a collection of Chuck Taylors and Jack Purcells in a variety of printed and solid uppers in both high and low tops featuring the Braniff International logo.
