  • Fragment Design x Nike Air Footscape HF TZ
By on April 3rd, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Excitingly innovative and fresh this bright orange/white design from Nike’s Hiroshi Fujiwara is a collaboration between Fujiwara’s Fragment Design, and Nike. The colorways are full of vigor and power, and the design promises to strike a powerful chord with those sneaker fans who have been regretting the lack of creative power in the scene these days.

The bright orange meshup and the bright white toecap combine with a midsole with black accents, and the result is a really eye-catching, mind-numbing sample of intellectual power. This pair is not be taken lightly, though it’s power is of the ethereal kind, unlike the many other samples we’ve been accustomed to receiving from Nike.

This will land at some select Tier Zero accounts on April 4th. Unless you act fast, we doubt that you’ll have any chances of laying your hands on these. Via Hyperbeast.

  • Days Old Duff Nike SB
By on April 3rd, 2009 | No Comments Comments

As The Simpsons gets ready to close out its 20th season, a designer with the screen name skateyourbeater decided to create a shoe to honor this iconic show. The Days Old Duff Nike SB focuses on Homer’s favorite beer as well as the various characters that come in and out of the Simpsons’ lives each episode. Skateyourbeater posted his latest creations at the Nike Talk post linked here.

The designer focused first on ensuring that these Nike SBs were filled to capacity with Duff imagery. From the Duff logos painted on the middle panel to the Duff bottles lining the heel, the designer was able to show one of the driving forces in Homer’s life. I like the off-kilter arrangement of the Duff logos, representing the quirky humor of the The Simpsons.

If you aren’t a fan of the Duff representations, skateyourbeater painted images of the show’s funnier characters on the inside and outside edges. The left shoe features Homer on the outside edge and Apu on the inside edge while the right shoe has Barney on the outside and Moe on the inside. As a lifelong fan of The Simpsons, I love the designer’s commitment to capturing the show’s familiar images on the Days Old Duff Nike SB.

This Nike Dunk Dunk High features royal blue on the toe and outsole, while the upper is all covered with black suede. The blue section in front also has a tonal pattern which quickly attracts the eyes and adds an interesting touch to the design.

The Nike dunk is one of the venerables of the footwear scene. Its resiliency in the face of changes in attitudes and eras is well-known to all sneaker lovers. In this black/blue design we see this regenerative power brought to life in the ever-creative minds of Nike’s designers.

This one could never be made more complex; everything about it is in the right place, every detail is proper, nothing too much or less. We love this kind of attitude, and we’d love to meet you at Limited EDT as we cope our own pair fo these.

  • Stubb’s BBQ x Spin Magazine x Supra Skytop – International Release
By on April 3rd, 2009 | No Comments Comments

This one is spectacularly elegant, mind bogglingly beautiful. This collaboration between Supra and Stubb is going to be a unique instant classic with only very limited numbers released worldwide. We’re told that only 1000 pairs of these will be available, and no begging, no entreaties will change their decision.

We can understand the choice to limit these to such an exclusive number, but we feel sad that the opportunity to enjoy these will be so far from so many sneaker lovers. And what a great loss is that! The colors, the contours which come together in this superior concept have all the potential for creating a new era in the footwear scene.

We hope that the firms will change their decision, and eventually produce more of these awesome creations. They are unique and exciting, hardy and beautiful in a single design. It is hard to avoid a shiver when encountering such magnificence.

  • Nike Terminator Basic ND – July ‘09
By on April 2nd, 2009 | No Comments Comments

This new pack from Nike is so colorful, rich and energetic that the picture above looks like a magic garden of flowers than a sampling of Nikes. It seems that, with the Terminator pack, Nike is determined to terminate all opposition in its sector of the footwear with a few dazzling strikes of the sword of creativity.

What can we say? We are left scratching our heads trying to match the success of Nike’s geniuses with our own humble words. When we’re silenced in shame, we at least have the belief that Nike lovers can see with their own eyes the unmistakable power of the Terminator in this colorful pack.

This beautiful, proud and successful creation from Nike will show up at various select Nike retailers including supermario this summer. Catch it before others do. Via Kenlu.
