Gucci Top Flap Sneaker - Yellow & Red

Not only do Gucci bags deserve stylish designs but kicks do too. Gucci brings up its high top flap sneaker that comes in 2 colorways – the Red and Yellow. • Nike Air Presto 2009

The Nike Air Presto has returned in some new, strong, tonal colorways. The red colorway has been released. This sneaker is a summer sneaker. The red color is warm and defeinitely represents summer. The Atmos website will start selling this shoe in April 2009.

There is a slim Nike swoosh on the toe box. The toe is capped by a red colored plastic mudguard. The tongue is joined to the shoe upper by a seam. The seam is sewn in red thread. This is a unique way of presenting the tongue. There is a light colored circle tag at the tip of the tongue. There are 5 plastic “bone” like structures that project upwards that form the shoe lace holes. The inner lining of the shoe is in matching red colored woven fabric. There is a ribbon like tag at the back of the heel. This is decorated with a silver strip down its center.

The midsole is thick and white colored. It is a good complement to the red tone. The structure of the sole makes this look like a casual dress shoe. There is a distinct heel which is good for a dress shoe. (Image)

  • Chainsaw Massacre Nike Vandals 2.0

Sweatshop Clothing customized some Nikes last year in honor of the classic horror flick The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. A client requested a Chainsaw Massacre custom of his own, leading the designer to take up this theme once again. The Chainsaw Massacre Nike Vandals 2.0 were featured on Sweatshop Clothing’s Nike Talk post linked here.

The toe and toe box are painted black/red to symbolize the blood splatters in Leatherface’s workshop of horrors. Sweatshop Clothing painted the heel tag red with a black Nike swoosh to stand apart from the flesh-colored paint used on the heel. The middle panel and heel feature flesh-colored swatches unified by red stitching to simulate Leatherface’s mangled visage.

My favorite part of the Chainsaw Massacre Nike Vandals 2.0 is the chainsaw design of the Nike swoosh. Sweatshop painted the Nike swoosh metallic silver to simulate the body of a chainsaw. The chain is created using silver and black paint around the swoosh’s edge, producing the appearance of motion as your eye moves from toe to heel. I think Sweatshop Clothing did a great job building off the first version of his Chainsaw Massacre Nikes.
