  • Nike Air Max 1 “Tartan Plaid”

This Nike Air Max 1 “Tartan Plaid” will be released soon. This has a mixture of Tartan Plaid of different colors. The base of the shoe upper is in black leather. This same leather is used for the Nike swoosh.

The toe box has black, white and red colors in its plaid. Then, another panel of plaid is laid over and this segment has red and black plaid. It is a small segment. The next overlapping segment of plaid is a larger piece as it forms the midsection of the shoe. The collar around the ankle has red and black plaid. The tongue also has this plaid and when it meets the collar, the effect is continuous and nice. The back of the heel has a different plaid with black, white and brown. The mudguard goes around the shoe and is in black leather.

The midsole is in white and there is a small window in the midsole, below the heel. The outsole is black with deep, dense treads. The plaid look is usually used for casual wear. This shoe will look outstanding when worn with plain white or other plain colored attire. I like the rich look in having different overlaying plaids.

  • Nike Blazer Hi Premium “Wood”
By on October 1st, 2008 | No Comments Comments

    here.

This is the latest Nike Blazer Hi Premium. It will be sold at Mita from Oct. 4. This shoe has many details featuring the “wood.”

The toe box has lines to imitate the grain pattern found in wood. The midsection is in normal leather. The thick white Nike swoosh is an accent that takes up a large amount of space. There is a right angle red machined thread line running across the Nike swoosh. The tongue is in heavily woven mesh. The tip has a white tag with orange lettering for Nike. The shoe lace is made of similar material as the tongue and it blends well. The midsole looks distinguished with the wood details. The natural brown color of wood is used. The toe cap for the toe box makes the shoe look tough and rugged. The back tab has a segment with a wood pattern again.

This Nike Blazer Hi Premium Wood has autumn colors. The brown and black are nice, earth colors and connect us to Nature. The brown color of the midsole reminds the wearer that the autumn ground might be getting mushy. This sneaker will work well if it is used as a casual shoe.

  • Wendy in Aspen Nike Zooms
By on October 1st, 2008 | No Comments Comments

I wrote yesterday about Evolved Footwear’s custom Air Force Ones for Capitol Music Group CEO Jason Flom’s son. The designer finished off his work for the Flom family by creating a pair of custom Nike Zooms for Wendy Flom. Wendy’s love of snowboarding was translated into the Wendy in Aspen Nike Zooms.

The pictures in this post were found at Evolved Footwear’s Nike Talk post linked here. Evolved Footwear used a gray/blue/pink colorway to represent Wendy’s favorite colors as well as the colors of the Colorado mountains.

The left sneaker features a pink silhouetted snowboarder riding a rail on her snowboard with beautiful mountain peaks in the background. This snowboarder is revealed as Wendy Flom complete with pink snow pants and a purple and turquoise jacket on the right shoe. Wendy is kicking up some snow as she finishes off her run in this more detailed picture. Evolved Footwear added snow flakes on the interiors of both shoes to show the idyllic conditions in Aspen, Colorado.

The Wendy in Aspen Nike Zooms trump the Real Kid Rock Air Force Ones in my mind. While I like music more than I like snowboarding, the details and colors used on Wendy’s sneakers captured my attention immediately. The only thing I can say for certain about Evolved Footwear’s work for the Flom family is that all three shoes are expertly done.
