  • Swamp Thing Dunk Highs
By on July 27th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Sekure D created the Nike Dunk Highs posted above for his own use. The Swamp Thing Nike Dunk Highs are a labor of love for the shoe designer who put in long hours after starting these shoes awhile back. The result of this hard work is a shoe that lives up to Swamp Thing’s misunderstood character as portrayed in comic books and graphic novels.

The shoe’s design brings the viewer up close and personal with Swamp Thing. Sekure D painted moss, grass, flowers and tree branches on the shoe to simulate the character’s natural facade. The designer faced the challenge of representing Swamp Thing without making the shoe look like a typical nature scene.

This challenge is unique to a character like Swamp Thing who does not share the chiseled features of Batman, Superman and Spiderman. Sekure D seems to have surmounted this challenge by adding dimension and detail to every element of these shoes.

There are additional photos after this post including a cover from the Alan Moore “Swamp Thing” graphic novel that inspired the shoe. Readers can also check out Sekure D’s blog here for customizing information and past shoe designs.

  • Nike Zoom Air Verona Premium – black colorway.
By on July 27th, 2008 | No Comments Comments

    here.

This shoe is sold at Fightclub Footwear. One pair costs 12,800 Yen.

The Nike Zoom Air Verona Premium is a casual shoe. It is worn by slipping it on. This sneaker is in a mixture of cackle leather and canvas. The toe box is large and extends to the midsection of the shoe. The leather is black and the cackle print is also in black. From the midsection to the heel, the shoe upper is made in black canvas.

This shoe does not have shoe laces. Being a slip, it projects an informal, carefree look and eliminating the shoe lace is a good way to provide the right mood to the shoe. The tongue is surrounded by its left and right sections, which have elastic properties. The back tab at the top of the heel is a panel of leather in cackle print.

The midsole and sole are made up of gum material. The gum is commonly used for casual shoes such as these. Although this is a slip on type of casual shoe, the color and design makes it look presentable for formal use. It can be used for a formal occasion too. It can also be a comfortable sneaker for the weekend or indoor use.
