  • Pennies from Heaven Air Force Ones

These custom Air Force Ones form the first part of a two-part series of shoes inspired by Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway. The designer dubbed Emmanuelabor posted these pictures on Nike Talk recently to showcase work that took several years to complete. The initial inspiration took place in the midst of Hardaway’s successful career as a guard for the Orlando Magic.

Emmanuelabor recognized that the Pennies from Heaven theme was a bit on the nose to celebrate Hardaway’s career. This self-awareness led the designer to approach these Air Force Ones with great care. The all-white shoes were given dark copper paint to create the look of a standard penny. The Nike symbols are filled in with images of pennies which must have taken a long time for the designer to complete.

I will post the other part of Emmanuelabor’s Penny series soon. The Pennies from Heaven Nikes are outstanding in terms of intricacy and originality. The designer knocked the simple idea of honoring “Penny” Hardaway with a penny-inspired shoe out of the park.

Air Jordan Men’s AJF 5 Low Basketball Shoe

These sneakers are sold at Finish Line for 0 per pair.

The Air Jordan and Air Force One combo is a very good combination. The best of each brand is used for the hybrid. This year, the Jordan Brand celebrates its 23rd anniversary while the Air Force One celebrates it’s 25th anniversary. This sneaker product is the first time that these two franchises have collaborated together. This pioneer product is supposed to set an example for all the sneaker designers in the world.

The design combines performance and artistic expression. The shoe upper is made of white leather with light grey colored graphics printed on it. The graphics are random lines and do not appear to mean anything significant. There are also specks of red that look like the Air Jordan graphic. The shoe lace is white. The tongue is white and at the tip is the grey tab which contains an Air Jordan logo.

The accent for the toe box is a white leather frame. The accent for the heel is another white panel and this has the number 23; the legendary Michael Jordan number. The midsection has a panel of white colored composite material with short lines on it.

The midsole has a red design. At the center of the midsole, the design becomes 4 sharp ridges. They look like teeth or mountain ridges. It is a nice looking shoe.
