    Supra Spring '08 Collection

Supra has many new hot shoes coming out in their Spring ‘08 Collection, including the perforated white leather sneaker pictured above. The white Cali Spring Perf offers a great look with the black laces and black strip on the midsole contrasting against the stark white leather. Perforations are a big part of Supra’s Spring Collection, as many styles include perforated leather or suede.Another favorite of mine in the group is a green suede low that is sure to be a big hit. The green is vibrant, but not so bold that it’s unwearable.

I also like the red high Vaider, which features both leather and suede combined to create a very interesting shoe. The gold trim is a nice touch to this unique sneaker. Also in the collection is the Diablo Erik Ellington Pro Model in both brown and black.

Get a glimpse into the rest of the Supra Spring ‘08 Collection with the pictures after the jump. Look for these shoes to released at Supra dealers very soon.Via Eighty’s Fresh.

  • Nike Blazer High – Black Suede/Vivid Blue

Nike Blazer High - Black Suede/Vivid Blue

The Nike Blazer High has long been one of my favorite shoes. Released back in 1972 for the first time, the Blazer featured a large Swoosh that garnered a lot of attention.

This edition of the Blazer features a black suede upper with a Vivid Blue Swoosh. This is a Japanese colorway that is limited there, so you won’t find it in many places. But right now you can get it at UK shop Size? for just £49.99 (around a hundred bucks).

I’m a big fan of black suede sneakers, so I love this shoes. The blue is a nice contrast against the black. This shoe features a white heel tab with NIKE in black letters.

  • Nike AF1 & Busy P – “Pedro In Paris”
By on February 3rd, 2008 | No Comments Comments

Nike and Busy P have teamed up to produce a collaborated effort.  This became the “Pedro In Paris.” This will be released later this year and there will be more news about it.

Busy P is the name of a DJ, who also does producing, managing bands and music related services. Busy P has used his rich music background to design this sneaker. He wrote his thoughts on the shoe. Although the shoe upper is black leather, the graphics (handwritten notes) make it look very outstanding. The small cartoon face looked cute but was detached enough to look cool too. Busy P expressed his opinion that Nike was so hot that the swoosh was like melting cheese. He wrote that the shoe looked like a “cupcake.”  Yes, for Nike fans, a well designed sneaker is a sweetheart.

I like the mid-sole. It has multi-colors in electric hues. The bottom most sole was reverted back to black to make it look cool. The inner sole is pink and a good color to have as an accent against the black upper.  The stitching was done in pink and black threads on different parts of the shoe.

There might be critics who say that the writings look like graffiti.  Well, it depends on how art is perceived.

  • TTK Custom Nikes for Another Generation

I took one look at the custom Nike hi-tops shown above and felt like I entered a time machine to another generation. The blue/black stripes behind the turqoise Nike swoosh looks like the background on the theme to “Saved by the Bell,” which may be a badge of honor for some designers. I know I enjoyed watching Zach and Screech kicking around with hi-tops but I don’t know if anyone in 2008 wants to wear a pair of customs that are so busy.

There are too many elements at work in TTK’s custom Nikes to make an effective shoe. The purple toebox stands out for all of the wrong reasons. The concrete design along running along the outside heel would work if the other colors were subtle. I admire TTK for taking a step outside of the box but I think he should check out his calendar to make sure he is designing in the right year. Check out the rest of his work at TTK’s MySpace page, he has some designs that put these Nikes to shame.
