    A Bathing Ape - Bapesta 88

A new sneaker style is being released from A Bathing Ape as part of their Spring/Summer 2008 collection. The Bapesta 88 is a classic Hi-Top that features old school styling rather than a mod look.

This sneaker is being released in white, black, brown, navy and red colorways. The shoes are simple, yet different than most new styles you see on the market right now. They feature a stitched leather upper with a safari-like print used in the trim and toe.

The Bape shooting star logo covers the back of the heel, plus a small version of the logo is on the toe. I prefer the all white version or the black/white colorway pictured above. However, they are all similar – so it will just depend on your personal color preference.

These are available at Bape retailers now. You can get them at Cliff Edge for about $320.

Nike Air Structure Triax 91 Infrared at Purchaze

    Purchaze received the

Nike Air Structure Triax 91in the “Metallic Summit White/Teal-Black-Infrared” Colorway.

First released back in 1990, the Nike Air Structure Triax 91 immediately became an iconic shoe. Since initial release it has never been available – until now. Combined with the Nike Footbridge technology with the Air unit but the real feature that snapped necks was the infrared accents on the instep. The original Colorway of the Nike Air Structure has a classic shape made of smooth black/grey suede, white mesh accents and the lovely teal swoosh. At the heel you can find the infrared Nike stitching.

    Check that out.

  • Air Jordan V Custom Dye Job

The original gray/pink colorway of the Air Jordan Vs shown above left much to be desired. How could arguably the greatest player in NBA history lend his name to a gray and pink monstrosity of this sort? One of these shoes has been spared the long fate of looking like a failed experiment by a generous customs designer.

The Air Jordan V is shown below entering a bath of blue dye. The final product is shown above with most of the gray covered in a royal blue color. You can see the pink interior remaining from the original shoes which looks far more natural with the blue than the gray. The dye is no substitute for a combination of spray and touch paint but the designer got the Air Jordan Vs for dirt cheap and a dyed blue is better than a natural gray any day.
