Adidas Gil II Zero TS Lightswitch Cust0mize

Though Gilbert Arenas is sidelined with a knee injury right now, his shoes keep rolling out from Adidas.

The Adidas Gil II Zero TS Lightswitch Cust0mize launched on Friday. This is one of the 20 different styles from Gil II Zero collection that are being released this season. The Cust0mize features all-white patent leather and comes with a dry erase marker so that you can write words or pictures on the clean white uppers. The heel features Gil’s self-portrait that he draw on the “Impossible is Nothing” TV commerical. These shoes are available at adidas.com for $90. Only 3,000 pairs are being released globally.

In addition to these shoes, check out the two home/away versions of the TS Lightswitch that also dropped on Black Friday.

The TS Lightswitch Away shoe comes in a black/sandstorm/white colorway and features graphics from his “Impossible is Nothing” TV spot. It reads “Agent Zero” on the side stripes. The Home shoe features a white/blue/bronze color combination – the Wizards home colors.

Adidas "Scores for Schools" Gil II Zero

As you know, Gilbert Arenas will be bringing you multiple versions of the Adidas Gil II Zero this year.

The “Scores for Schools” Gil II Zero pictured here are the shoes that Gilbert wore on Monday for the Scores for Schools Foundation Kickoff Event. At the event he selected 82 lucky Washington schools out of a lottery pool of 245 to be a part of his Scores for Schools program.

He set up this program to provide inner schools in the Washington, DC area with funding. Throughout the season, he will donate $100 to the Foundation for every point that he scores in home games. Then the total amount is matched by the Wizards organization. Last year, the foundation raised over $120K.

The Adidas “Scores for Schools” Gil II Zero is a white shoe with red and blue accents. It features the Scores for Schools logo the foot strap. 5000 pairs of these shoes are being released to the public in February 2008.

Check out Gilbertology for information on future releases of different Gil II Zero colorways throughout the season.

    Gil II Zero

Leave it to Gilbert Arenas to come up with a brilliant marketing idea. Arenas, who has a amazingly popular blog on NBA.com, is coming out with 20 different versions of his Adidas Gil II Zero kicks.

Most of these will be limited edition shoes and all of them will have their own story. Check out his blog for more information on each shoe and the corresponding release dates. The shoe in the above picture is just one of the 20 different versions that will be released.

With the black, gold and clear plastic, these kicks are hot. Adidas is going out on a limb with Arenas’ idea but this could be a smashing hit for the upcoming year. If it works for Adidas and Arenas, this would be great news for sneakerheads because it could mean multiple releases for each player shoe in the future.
