Mizzee Custom Kicks reached the second round of the 2009 Clash of the Customizers with the Futurama Nike Dunks. Mizzee defeated King of Sneakers by a sound margin by playing to the cult following for Matt Groening’s Futurama. I found these photos at the 2009 Clash of the Customizers website linked here.

The Futurama Nike Dunks start with fan favorite Bender floating through the infinite darkness of space on the left shoe. The right exterior shows Fry riding a space scooter as he runs away from an armada of powerful brains. Mizzee did an outstanding job with the background imagery including a swirling nebula on the right toe and a bright star on the left toe. The interior sides show the expanse of outer space with stars, galaxies and planets to put Fry and Bender’s exploits into context.

Mizzee Custom Kicks is currently awaiting the next opponent in the Clash of the Customizers. The faithful representation of Futurama characters along with the detailed celestial backdrop make the Futurama Nike Dunks a favorite to win it all.
