Last Tuesday, a select group of media members were invited out to Los Angeles for the launch of the adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2. Specifically, the mix of invitees boarded a bus to the Los Angeles Clippers practice facility to see and test out the latest and lightest from the Three Stripes.
Sportscaster extraordinaire Gus Johnson emceed the event, setting the stage for adidas Global Basketball Vice President Lawrence Norman and adidas Basketball Category Designer Robbie Fuller. The tandem broke down the design process of the shoe by showing early illustrations and discussed the process of making it lighter (9.5 oz compared to 9.8 oz) and stronger. The pair was passionate about both, but the excitement went to another level when they delved into the model’s hardwood debut.

Rather than align the sequel’s introduction around current pro talent, they set their sights on the next generation of stars. The Baylor Bears, Kansas Jayhawks, Indiana Hoosiers, and Wisconsin Badgers were among the schools that debuted the new model in the NCAA Tournament. Lacing big men and speedy guards alike, this across-the-board endorsement was solidified days later at the McDonald’s High School All-American Game. All 24 players in both the boys and girls laced up the Crazy Light 2.

Following the presentation, media members were led to a locker room stocked with Crazy Light 2 sneakers and apparel. The group geared up for hours of hoops on the Clippers training site with Gus Johnson returning to action for live play-by-play.
The evening would conclude with a private dinner and award ceremony. Be on the lookout for Crazy Light 2 sightings in Kicks On Court and look for the “Electricity” colorway and four other makeups to release on May 24th.
